Uncommon Care, Inc. is a Texas-based health care company that provides assisted living services to senior citizens with dementia. Uncommon Care was founded in 1994 on the premise that such people and their families need a residential alternative to nursing home and health care. Uncommon Care facilitates all Barton House projects. Barton House focuses on creating a residential atmosphere which accommodates the needs of its residents.

The founders and principals of Uncommon Care are Bob Bouchard and John Trevey, both of Austin, Texas. The principals have known each other since their undergraduate days together at the University of Virginia in the early 1980's. Before Uncommon Care, Mr. Bouchard was a Project Manager for Personal Care, Skilled Nursing, and Alzheimer's facilities in California. Mr. Trevey practiced law in Richmond before returning to UVa to receive an MBA from Darden. Both are Certified Nurse Aides.
